Why is my computer running slow?
- Your computer is most likely running slow as a result of varies malware infections, unnecessary programs, etc. These infections could include Viruses, Trojans, or spyware. Some of these infections can be extremely harmful to your system and very difficult to remove. They imbed themselves in your system files and usually run processes in the background that utilize your CPU and memory resulting in the loss of efficiency in your computer. You may see slow startups, slow internet, and a long delay in the opening up of programs. More severe infections will limit you from accessing the internet or certain web sites and prevent you from opening up certain programs. The best solution for this issue is to have a qualified technician come out and clean up your system to ensure that all infections are cleaned up properly. The technician will also optimize your system by removing unwanted programs, cleaning up your registry, and making sure only necessary programs startup when the computer boots up.
Why does my computer take so long to Startup?
- There are several reasons that a computer could take a while to startup. Some of these reasons include having several pictures, music files, etc; however, the most common reason for a slow startup is having too many programs on your startup list. Your computer has a list of programs that it starts up every time your computer boots up. These programs add themselves to the list when you install them on your computer. If you look at your tray located in the bottom right hand corner of your computer you may see several icons there. The more icons you have the slower your startup will be. You only need essential system components to startup (antivirus, video drivers, audio drivers, quick keys, etc…). All other programs can be accessed from the start menu located in the bottom left corner when you need them. To remove items from you startup list you can open the program and go to its options and deselect it from starting up when windows starts or the better solution is to have a trained technician clean up your system as there are several items that you do not see in the tray that startup as well. The technician will also be able to optimize other areas of your system to ensure it starts up quickly and runs efficiently.
Can I upgrade the hardware in my computer?
-Yes, hardware can be upgraded in both desktop computers and laptop computers. The most common upgrades include memory (RAM), hard drive, video card, audio card, DVD-burners, and wireless cards. The upgrade you choose will match the purpose you are trying to achieve. For example, if you want your computer to run faster then you would want to add more memory. These kinds of upgrades should be performed by a trained technician as there are several sensitive internal parts that can short out and/or be broken if not handled properly. Furthermore, not putting in the correct hardware for your computer could result in permanent damage as well.
